Code of Conduct
Zero-Tolerance Policy
In the best interest of our athletes, we have implemented a Zero-Tolerance Policy. Families, coaches, athletes, and spectators are expected to conduct themselves in a respectable, responsible, honest, and caring manner. AYSC has a zero-tolerance policy for behavior that is disrespecful, disruptive, or rude. AYSC reserves the right to ask any individual(s) to leave the field and/or property for inappropriate behavior and/or conduct. Additonally, AYSC reserves the right to have local authorities involved in the enforcement of this policy. This includes inappropriate comments to the officials, staff, or other participants.
Players:
- Players shall at all times compose themselves and interact with respect towards their teammates, coaches, officials, sidelines, and opponents.
- Players shall come to practices and matches ready to play: well fed, rested, with water, proper equipment, and a good attitude.
- Players shall take on the responsibility of communicating positively with coaches regarding absences, lateness, injuries, field position, etc.
- Players will commit to working hard, striving to improve their game, and having fun.
- Players shall commit to the team for the season. If unforeseen difficulties occur, the player will inform the coach as soon as possible.
Actions for violation of policy:
- 1st Offense – Player Spoken to by a Board Member
- 2nd Offense – Player removed from property (not just field)
- 3rd Offense – Player banned for the season & not allowed property (not just field)
Families:
- Families shall support their players by being positive before, during, and after team matches and other team events.
- Families shall not atempt to coach or direct players in practices or matches.
- Families shall not communicate with the officials or opponents at matches.
- Families shall ensure that their players are fully prepared prior to practices or games: eating well, being properly hydrated, sleeping well, have the necessary equipment i.e. shin guards, cleats, etc.
- Families are encouraged to communicate with the coach regarding player development, playtime, personality issues, etc., at an appropriate time. Not during practices or matches.
Actions for violation of policy:
- 1st Offense – Individual(s) Spoken to by a Board Member
- 2nd Offense – Individual(s) removed from property (not just field)
- 3rd Offense – Individual(s) banned from property & remaining games (not just field)
