The Amsterdam Youth Soccer Club (AYSC) is an independent youth organization run solely by volunteers generating all of its revenues from player registrations, sponsorships, and fund raisers. The Amsterdam Youth Soccer Club is not supported by City, State, or Government Agencies.
A record number of more than 400 kids signed up for the Spring Session. AYSC will have Travel teams participating in all age groups. A new division for kids ages 3 and 4 has been added to the program. AYSC coaches are using an online coaching program to stay up to date with latest trends and practices.
A new board of directors was elected in October. The new board decided to introduce beginning with the Spring 2011 session the small-sided games for all age groups.
An AYSC Travel Team plays year round in Spring and Fall Travel Leagues as well as 3 indoor sessions at Afrim in Colonie.
Thank you all the parents getting involved with AYSC Soccer, in the Fall of 2007 we had just over 320 kids playing, and hope to see them in 2008.
In 2007 we are instituting a on-line registration in addition to the live registration option, along with many other changes that went very well.
As the interest in soccer grew the recreational spring season was reinstituted for a spring 2006 season. This was the first year in which the recreational program players were outfitted in a full soccer uniform including jersey, shorts and socks.
After 8 years of providing a spring soccer program the club made the hard decision the spring 2003 recreational season would be discontinued due to lack of players.
In 1995, the AYSC expanded once again to include a recreational spring season.
